A Brighton Mother used her falsely claimed state
handouts to send her daughter to top private school.
£35,000 was claimed falsely by way of housing
benefits, council tax and income support.
Pretending that she was unemployed - and so able
to claim various benefits - she actually had a range of jobs.
Sometimes three jobs at the same time as ripping off the council and
taxpayer. Ironically, she was being paid by the taxpayer for one of
her jobs - as a hospital nursing assistant.
The woman pleaded guilty of fifteen charges of
fraudulently claiming benefits - mainly from City of Hove and
Brighton Council.
Two different national Insurance numbers were the
giveaway that started the investigation.
Sentence on December 17th 2008 - after 'reports'
