Turn down a job and maybe NO BENEFITS!

Chris Grayling - the Conservative party's 'work' spokesman - today told the Tory conference about a shake-up under consideration by the Conservatives.

basically, if you get offered a job that you are capable of doing and turn it down, you are out of benefits! benefits are no longer to be seen as a legitimate "Entitlement"

There will be added support, from a network of 'back to work' offices. they will either be voluntary or private organisations. Whichever, the aim is the same. get people off benefits and back into work!

Mr grayling said that "Reform of the welfare system, was a key element in repairing Britain's 'Broken society!'

The added level of support to be introduced into the system, will be seen as instrumental in transforming the benefits system. Continue turning down work offers, and lose up to three years benefits.

Those on benefits will be offered help in finding reasonable work. Refuse three offers of work, and it could lead to loss of benefits. Further, for those on jobseekers allowance, and not finding work for two years, then there will be a compulsory one-year community work programme to be involved in.

Mr grayling said - ""No one benefits from sitting at home on benefits," - "When people get a reasonable job offer, they will be expected to take it. It is much better to be in a job and looking to move on to something else, than sitting at home hoping the right thing will come along."

Together with this, economic pressures such as we are experiencing now, would see those on incapacity benefit, being independently assessed for their 'ability' to work.

Some of this will be introduced sooner than a Tory government getting into office. Labour government have changes afoot for 27th October this year - 2008 - which broadly follows some of these outline suggestions!
