Care Needs (DLA and AA)

Does your mental health get in the way with:......

- · Making yourself get out of bed in the morning?
- · Motivating yourself to get dressed?
- · Remembering to take your medication?
- · Being active within your home?
- · Taking part in hobbies or social life?
- · Communicating with others?
- · Dealing with forms and letters?
- · Making yourself wash/ bath regularly?
- · Eating properly and regularly?
- · Cooking a main meal?
- · Getting to bed/ sleep at nights?
The DWP term these ‘Attention’ needs.
If the answer to all or any of these is yes, then you could be entitled to the
Care component of DLA or Attendance Allowance—although AA does not include
difficulties you have with cooking.
