MIDDLE CARE DLA or LOWER AA
This is paid either:
- · because you have difficulties with care needs on and off through the day
OR
- · you need someone to keep an eye on you most of the day
OR
- · you have difficulties with care needs more than once at night, or for one
spell of over twenty minutes or so
OR
- · someone needs to be awake to watch over you more than once a night or for one
spell of over twenty minutes or so
HIGHER CARE DLA or HIGHER AA
This is paid if
- · you have difficulties with care needs on and off through the day
OR
- · you need someone to keep an eye on you most of the day
AND
- · you have difficulties with care needs more than once at night, or for one
spell of over twenty minutes or so
OR
- · someone needs to be awake to watch over you more than once a night or for one
spell of over twenty minutes or so
Basically then, difficulties just for a short while or with cooking a main meal
= DLA lower care
Difficulties just during the day or just during the night = DLA middle care or
AA lower rate.
Difficulties day AND night = DLA higher care or AA higher rate.
