Civil Servants and HM Forces overseas -
Information about your rights to the Pregnancy Grant.

Crown Servants who are posted overseas, should be entitled to the
Health in Pregnancy Grant - a one-off payment over and above any
other benefits - and it is tax free!
|

As an overseas posted Crown Servant - civil service and HM forces -
the grant is available after the 25th week of pregnancy. There are a
few rules that you need to satisfy in order to receive this grant
during an overseas posting.
- You will need to be 25 weeks or more into your pregnancy.
- You are getting advice from your doctor or midwife about
health during pregnancy.
ALSO
- Immediately before your overseas posting, you will have been
living in the UK - as an ordinary resident. That means that you
were living there - not just visiting.
AND
- If you have a partner who has been posted abroad, and you
have gone to live with them, you are entitled to the grant, if
you meet all the other conditions.
How to Claim
- HM Armed forces from your Forces Medical centre
- Civil Servants will need to contact the Helpline for Health
in Pregnancy.
